As part of UTC’s commitment to the communities where it does business, the company recently announced a major new partnership with SOS Children’s Villages India entitled Project Vidya, which is a Sanskrit word for education. The initiative will provide quality schooling, mentoring, and support to children living in SOS villages across nine cities in India.

The international SOS Villages network is premised on providing parentless and abandoned children with a nurturing environment where they can grow up to their full potential. An SOS Family consists of 8-10 children, both boys and girls, who live with their SOS Mother. After the age of 14, the boys move on to a Youth House to continue their care and growth. SOS Children's Villages India aims to ensure that children receive the education and skills training that they need to be successful and contributing members of society.
