(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) San Leandro, CA - December 5, 2011 - The North Face, the premier supplier of authentic, innovative and technologically advanced exploration apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories, today  issued its first public sustainability report for 2010.

For 45 years, The North Face has been empowering people to explore the outdoors. Because of this focus on the natural world, few issues affect The North Face as deeply as climate change. The North Face athletes, customers and employees return from expeditions with stories of receding glaciers, decimated forests, unprecedented drought, and a natural world that is changing visibly.    “It’s not just our responsibility to ensure our products and business practices have the smallest possible impact on the environment — we strive to be a leader in meeting those challenges,” The North Face President Todd Spaletto said in a letter to the company. “This is just the first update on our progress; we remain committed to the challenge of seamlessly embedding our commitment to sustainability into every aspect of our business.”   The full report, available at www.expeditionsustainability.com, is easy to navigate and contains graphs and important data points as well as videos from our president, athletes and sustainability team. View the details concerning The North Face global goals and achievements in water, chemical, energy and waste reductions.   About The North Face® The North Face, a division of VF Outdoor, Inc., was founded in 1968.
