LEED® AP Training at Environmental Systems, Inc., in Brookfield, WI

Mar 19, 2012 8:00 PM ET

(3BL Media) Madison, WI - March 19, 2012 - Leonardo Academy announced today that it will be partnering with the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance (WGBA), a nonprofit educational organization that serves the state of Wisconsin, to promote its in-person LEED training for the LEED Accredited Professional (AP) O+M exam on April 10, 2012.  WGBA develops and sponsors educational events and programs focusing on sustainable design and building practices targeting both its members and audiences that are important to the fulfillment of the organization’s goals. The one-day training session will be conducted at the Environmental Systems Inc., in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and will cover the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EB: O+M), a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and knowledge requirements for the LEED AP O+M exam.  Visit the WGBA website to register: http://wgba.shuttlepod.org/Default.aspx?pageId=501632&eventId=438262&EventViewMode=EventDetails.

Training participants will learn how to successfully use and implement LEED-EB: O+M, and be prepared for the LEED AP O+M exam. This course provides eight hours of AIA continuing education credit. The LEED AP O+M exam includes material covered by the LEED Green Associate training, so participants wishing to take the LEED AP O+M exam with no prior experience should attend a LEED Green Associate training prior to this course.

Leonardo Academy’s extensive knowledge of LEED-EB stems from its ongoing work with the USGBC in developing the LEED-EB rating system, from reviewing LEED certification applications, and from real-world experience as a consultant on numerous LEED-EB certification projects.

Leonardo Academy’s training approach cultivates a dynamic interaction with participants and provides opportunities for all three key modes of learning.  Leonardo Academy also provides training participants with study tools, such as:

  • Self-quizzing tools for increasing and testing knowledge
  • Vocabulary exercises
  • Model exam questions

As a portfolio provider in the USGBC Education Provider program and an approved provider of AIA continuing education courses, Leonardo Academy offers a wide range of training courses on sustainability and environmental topics.  Most Leonardo Academy training courses provide both USGBC and AIA continuing education credits, which can be used by members of these organizations to fulfill continuing education requirements as part of their credentialing maintenance programs.

Leonardo Academy delivers its training courses both in person and by live webinar.  The full list of current training courses and registration options is available on the Leonardo Academy website at www.leonadoacademy.org.
