How an Engagement Ring Provides Clean Drinking Water

An engaged couple is experiencing one of the happiest times of their lives. A big part of any proposal is the engagement ring, something Krish Himmatramka, founder of the startup Do Amore, really understands. In 2012, he decided he wanted to make engagement rings more special, and for him that meant helping people. 

A year later, Krish launched a full-scale website for Do Amore, which means “I give with love” in Latin, selling ethically sourced engagement rings. He started the company before he proposed to his then- girlfriend, now his wife. He looked around and thought, “There has to be a way to make this more special,” he told me. He wanted the proposal to have “some sort of focal point of helping people at the center.”
