(3BL Media) August 20, 2012 - Green Jobs Forum – Discover if your Dream Job is a Green Job!

What: Green Jobs Forum and Job Pavilion

When: Monday, September 17, 2012

     11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre

Who:

  • High school, college and university students looking for a career in the environmental sector.
  • Anyone looking for a challenging and rewarding career.
  • Speakers and green-collar professionals
  • Anyone interested in a green career

Why: More than half of Canadian students are interested in careers in the environmental sector, but they aren't clear on the opportunities available to them. Research conducted by Harris Decima shows that while 68 per cent of teens surveyed believe jobs in the environmental sector are increasing, they don’t feel they know enough about the types of jobs available. In fact, 88 per cent agree that more access to information about environmental jobs is needed.

On September 17th, 2012, thousands of students, recent graduates and anyone looking for a career change will gather to learn all there is to know about jobs in the new green economy. The Green Jobs Forum is Canada’s first comprehensive, multi-sector platform for business leaders, visionaries and teachers to connect and exchange their knowledge with the next generation. The goal: foster a greater understanding of real-life career opportunities and put youth in the position to seize them

Attendees will learn from inspiring and insightful presentations, interact with leaders and mentors in the private, public and non-profit sectors within the following green industry rooms:

1. Alternative Energy

2. Green Building & Energy Auditing

3. Urban Planning & Transportation

4. Agri-Food & Horticulture

5. Environmental Protection & Conservation

6. Business & Finance

7. Health & Education
