Food For Thought: Our Inaugural BlueBud Mentee – Hot Bread Kitchen
Earlier this summer we announced our BlueBud business mentoring program and our inaugural mentee Hot Bread Kitchen, a social enterprise bakery that empowers women to build economic security.
Hot Bread Kitchen, founded by Jessamyn Rodriguez, builds lasting economic security for foreign-born and low-income women by introducing them to professional opportunities in the male-dominated culinary industry. The bakery also offers a unique food business incubator, HBK Incubates, which provides the necessary support to develop start-ups.
As our BlueBud mentee, Hot Bread Kitchen has received unprecedented special access to our business leaders and executives and the airline’s unique product development culture, as well as valuable industry insights. This mentoring program will serve as a vehicle for Hot Bread Kitchen to learn how to get their bakery and products up in the air, and hopefully our on flights in some way or another.
