Madison, Wis., May 28, 2014 /3BL Media/ – First Fairfield Associates, LLC, today announced that 1stGig.com has upgraded the functionality of its service that brings recent college graduates and potential employers together. Unlike traditional job boards and other self-help resources, 1stGig.com founders developed a proprietary algorithm that makes it easier and faster for potential employees (Potentials) and employers to find each other.

Developed on behalf of FirstGig.com, the free-to-access website is aimed specifically at Potentials who are recent college graduates and businesses that seek early career hires. The good news for recent college graduates is that the unemployment rate is improving (10.9 % versus 13.3% at the end of 2012), though it’s still higher than the overall unemployment rate (6.3%). The trick is to help employers and “Potentials” find each other.

“According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, employers plan to hire about 8.6 percent more college graduates this spring than last year,” said Al Marco CEO of FirstGig.com. “The problem with most self-help resources like job boards is that they are incredibly time-consuming and frustrating for both Potentials and employers.”

1stGig.com is not a static job board or self-help resource, it is an employment match service,” continues Marco. “When employer requirements match 100% of the potential employee’s criteria, the matches are sent to the Potential to review. If they accept the opportunity, it’s up to them to initiate contact with the interested employer.”

For a limited time, 1stGig.com will also be free for companies to join. It’s never been easier for “Potentials” and employers to find each other. 1stGig.com has partnered with Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation to access student loan holders throughout the United States; providing access to over three million student loan holders, empowering them to find the right career that will enable them to repay their student loans. Plus, 1stGig.com keeps the profiles live, providing employers with a constant stream of talent that helps them build a robust talent pool that can be tapped into whenever they need new employees.
