Solutions for Life

Solutions for Life enhances our mission to conserve water and improve hygiene around the world through collaborations with NGOs (non-governmental organizations), global philanthropy and employee volunteerism. Through Solutions for Life, we are extending our expertise through out support of NGOs and projects that have meaningful impacts in the areas of:

  • Water Conservation and Protection: In less than 20 years, the world will need about 40 percent more water than today's accessible supply to maintain food production, generate electricity and provide clean drinking water. We leverage our resources and expertise to conserve life-sustaining water resources where we live and work.

  • Hygiene Education: Washing hands with soap is one of the most effective and inexpensive ways to prevent disease. We share our passion and knowledge to educate individuals about water conservation and hygiene and inspire them to champion change in their communities.

  • Innovative Global Solutions: Despite significant advancements, water scarcity/quality and disease/infection continue to persist. Groundbreaking innovations play a critical role in solving these major global problems.

Solutions for Life is funded by Ecolab through the Ecolab Foundation.  Learn more at http://www.ecolab.com/about/corporate-responsibility/community-involvement/giving-programs/global-program

Ecolab and Project WET Foundation Launch New Interactive Online Activity to Teach Kids How and Why to Wash their Hands with Soap
With cold and flu season well underway, parents and teachers have a new tool to teach kids how to protect themselves from germs. “Soap and Water Science” is a fun online activity developed by Ecolab’s partner, the Project WET Foundation, to teach kids how germs spread—and how soap and water work together to stop that process. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cite washing hands with soap as one of the “most effective ways to prevent the spread of many types of infection and illness in all settings.”
