K-12 Education

 DIRECTV is committed to fostering K-12 education as our primary area of focus, and we prioritize STEM education. Across all markets we serve, our investments in educational programming, teacher training, internships, mentoring, technology and facilities are having a positive impact on student performance. Through DIRECTV GOES TO SCHOOL in the U.S., we provide free programming to K-12 schools and offer special events and content to enhance students’ educational experiences.

DIRECTV’s Strategic Math Partnership with City Year Los Angeles
For the 2014-2015 academic year, DIRECTV was City Year Los Angeles’ Strategic Math Sponsor. Their support funded math training and professional development for nearly 300 AmeriCorps members serving at 25 schools across Los Angeles, and also helped create the Math Coordinator role on each school team.

DIRECTV MATHx Event 2015
MATHx is a collaboration between DIRECTV and Teach For America aimed at inspiring stakeholders in math education and raising awareness about the doors a great math education can open. This series of MATHx events in Los Angeles, Denver and Tulsa, Okla. will bring together many different voices in math education to share innovative ideas and inspiration related to math.
