CNH Industrial N.V. (NYSE: CNHI/ MI: CNH) presented its thoughts and ideas regarding the Off-Road sector and what it can learn from the On-Road hybridization and electrification at the 3rd annual Electrification and Battery Development for Non-Road Applications conference in Frankfurt, Germany.

The conference was focused on the innovations and developments regarding electrification in Off-Road vehicles, smart charging and what the future holds for sustainable Off-Road vehicles. CNH Industrial first discussed its development and growth in alternative fuels focusing on natural gas engines which significantly reduce emissions, to now being at the forefront in developing zero emission propulsion solutions.

CNH Industrial focused on its full range of natural gas-powered vehicles from commercial vehicles to buses, which reduce overall emissions by up to 98% and CO2 levels by up to 95% whilst delivering the same performance as a diesel-powered equivalent. The New Holland methane powered tractor and the CASE ProjectTetra wheel loader concepts are both powered by biomethane, which delivers not only outstanding emission reductions, but as biomethane can be generated from waste products on farms or in waste handling plants, they enable energy independence through a circular economy.

One of the main topics of discussion was the partnership between  IVECO and  NIKOLA MOTORS, in which they will combine to disrupt the haulage industry. IVECO have high-quality truck technology and world class manufacturing and engineering capabilities and NIKOLA MOTORS is a leader in fuel cell technology.

As a result, CNH Industrial, through its wide offering across a range of on and off-road segments demonstrated the far-reaching benefits that both electrification and hybridization can bring.
