CENTENNIAL, Colo.  Mar. 20, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Gretchen Zech, senior vice president of global human resources for Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW), was named to Human Resource Executive magazine’s 2015 “Most Powerful Women in HR” list.

With the help of HR industry leaders, the editors of HRE have assembled a list of the Most Powerful Women in HR. This year’s list comes 10 years after HRE last published its list of influential and prominent female chief human resource officers (CHRO). In all, 15 women are featured on the 2015 list. They include 13 who are leading HR in the private sector, one in government and one in higher education.

“Gretchen’s contributions to the human resources initiative at Arrow and to our executive team have been immeasurable,” said
Michael J. Long, chairman, president and CEO for Arrow. “In only four years with us, she’s had a significant impact on the strategic and operational development of our HR function and talent pipeline. We congratulate her on this recognition, and look forward to her innovative concepts that help make Arrow a better place to work.”

“We’re once again pleased to recognize a select group of women chief HR officers who are playing important and pivotal roles in their respective organizations and in the profession as a whole,” said
David Shadovitz, editor of Human Resource Executive. “In the 10 years since HRE last produced a list of the Most Powerful Women in HR, the number of women sitting atop HR organizations at the nation’s 100 largest employers has increased by an impressive 58 percent. In the pages of the magazine’s March edition, we’ve identified, with the input of HR thought leaders, 15 women who stand out in the profession because of the influence they are wielding and the impact they are having in their roles as CHROs.”
