WASHINGTON, April 6, 2021, /3BL Media/ - America’s Charities, the nonprofit that inspires employees and organizations to support causes they care about, today announced it has been recognized as one of the 2021 Best Nonprofits To Work For by The NonProfit Times and Best Companies Group. The award honors America’s Charities as one of 50 best employers across the nonprofit industry in 2021, benefiting the industry's economy, workforce, and businesses. Workplaces that make this prestigious list are known for providing an outstanding culture and excellent employee experiences.

“The power of an organization is its people,” said Jim Starr, president and CEO of America’s Charities. “It’s not just about attracting and retaining the best and the brightest, it’s also about building connections and culture. The respect, care, and compassion our team members have for one another, our clients and members, and the greater community is what makes America’s Charities such a rewarding workplace.”

Nonprofits from across the United States entered the two-part Best Nonprofits To Work For survey process. The first part, worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation, consisted of evaluating each nominated organization's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part, worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation, consisted of an employee survey to measure their experience. Independent research group Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the ranking.

According to results of America’s Charities employee survey, the organization achieved an overall satisfaction rate of 91 percent, with 97 percent of employees sharing that their job “provides them with a sense of meaning and purpose.” In addition, 97 percent feel that the organization “has created an environment where they can do their best work,” and 100 percent say they are “proud to work for this organization.” Other survey feedback included:

One hundred percent (100%) of America’s Charities’ employees:

  • Said America’s Charities enables a culture of diversity.
  • Believe the leaders of the organization care about their well-being.
  • Reported they feel part of a team working toward a shared goal.
  • Shared that they can trust what this organization tells them.

In addition:

  • Ninety-seven percent (97%) of America’s Charities’ employees believe the senior leaders of the organization live the core values of the organization.
  • Ninety percent (90%) would recommend America’s Charities’ products/services to a friend.

To be considered for participation, organizations had to be in business a minimum of one year, be a nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status, have a facility in the United States, have a minimum of 15 employees in the United States, and be a separate legal entity or subsidiary. The combined scores determined the top nonprofits and the final ranking. The NonProfit Times, the leading national business publication for nonprofit managers, hosted the survey and published the final list of 50 Best Nonprofits To Work For.

America’s Charities’ focus is workplace philanthropy. By helping nonprofits fundraise unrestricted, sustainable dollars through the workplace, the organization has raised more than $750 million for more than 25,000 nonprofits addressing a range of causes. In addition, by helping businesses achieve their giving, engagement, and social impact goals, each year America’s Charities processes more than one million donations and disburses more than 40,000 payments to nonprofits. Last year America’s Charities celebrated its 40th anniversary as a pioneer of giving and engagement, working towards bringing more resources to the nonprofits that are changing our world.

“The America’s Charities team prides itself on walking the walk,” added Starr. “Every day we advise our clients and nonprofit members about the future of workplace philanthropy, so it’s incredibly important that we follow our own proven practices. From hiring a diverse team of smart, passionate people who reflect our stakeholders to hosting our own workplace giving program that empowers our employees to support the causes they care about, I am proud of the intentional culture we have built that reflects our staff’s values. Being honored as a Best Nonprofit To Work For is wonderful recognition. Above all, I am grateful to work alongside so many talented, caring, committed individuals.”
