April 27, 2020 /3BL Media/ - Trane Technologies - a global climate innovator - released its 2019 Annual and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, Focusing for the Future. Through its strategic brands Trane and Thermo King, and its environmentally responsible portfolio of products and services, the company brings efficient and sustainable climate solutions to buildings, homes and transportation. The report celebrates the early achievement of 30 specific and ambitious 2020 Targets for world-class ESG performance and introduces the company’s next-generation 2030 Sustainability Commitments. Highlights include:

  • Customer outcomes:
    • More than 80% reduction in the greenhouse gas (GHG) refrigerant footprint of its products since 2013 — achieving its 50% target — and a pledge to reduce customer carbon emissions by one gigaton by 2030
  • Operational outcomes:
    • 50% decrease in Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity since 2013 — achieving its 35% target — and a commitment to bring its operations carbon neutral by 2030
    • 27% increase in energy efficiency compared to 2013 — achieving its 10% target — and a new goal to achieve a 10% absolute reduction in energy consumption by 2030
  • Workforce outcomes:
    • 23.1% of leadership positions and 24.3% of the workforce are women — achieving targets to attract and retain top-quality, diverse talent and leadership — and commitments to achieve enhanced workforce diversity reflective of its communities and gender parity in leadership roles by 2030
    • 96.1% retention of key talent — achieving 95% target — and a pledge to maintain world-class engagement metrics as part of its 2030 goals
  • Community outcomes:
    • 20,000 women sponsored in STEM-related activities and more than 51,000 hours volunteered related to housing and shelter since 2013 — achieving citizenship targets — and the launch of bolder goals to invest in education and workforce development, housing and comfort, and food and wellness by 2030

Now a pure-play global climate company after the separation of its Industrial segment earlier this year, Trane Technologies is uniquely positioned to focus on the future and solve big sustainability challenges.

As it releases this report, Trane Technologies is working hard to safeguard the health of its people and provide critical products and infrastructure services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Information about the company’s response can be found here.

The 2019 Annual and ESG Report documents the results of the legacy Climate and Industrial segments, known in 2019 as “Ingersoll Rand.” Going forward, Trane Technologies will issue separate Annual and ESG reports.
