Microsoft Corp. announced on Wednesday a new commitment of $75 million in community investments over the next three years to increase access to computer science education for all youth, and especially for those from under-represented backgrounds. When asked how long the students thought it would take to unload the tractor trailer, answers ranged anywhere from three days to three minutes. The tour of the Old Dominion Landfill facility concluded with sack lunches and Q&A. Republic’s landfill tours are educational, engaging and fun.

On Friday, September 18, Ghetto Film School Los Angeles and the nonprofit Film Independent will present the second annual GFS LA Screening Showcase, where GFS students' 11-minute short films will screen at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the largest art museum in the western United States.
