The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl™ wasn’t just about football – it was about helping kids play the sports they love. Mission Tiger™ donated $20K to Anthony Middle School, giving 170 students new gear and a chance to stay in the game.
Time sure flies when you are having fun! It’s hard to believe that we are half way through the 2016 AT&T Aspire Accelerator and already it’s such an incredible experience. From our kick off in San Francisco in May to the ISTE conference in June, the 2016 class is making serious progress growing their organizations to maximize impact and is developing impactful relationships along the way. I can’t wait for our next in-person convening at the GSV Pioneer Summit in September. In the meantime, check out the video below to learn more about our program and the 2016 class.
In 2015, AT&T sponsored 7 young men of color for All Star Code’s 2015 Summer Intensive program. Since the end of the program, our AT&T scholars have continued to develop their computer science and coding skills and grow into remarkable leaders. Point Foundation (Point), the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students of merit, is committed to helping young people acquire leadership skills. Thanks to the generosity of corporate supporters and workplace giving, this year Point is able to bring its current 84 scholarship recipients and many of its 350 alumni together for leadership training events around the country, including a National Leadership Conference.

For eight years, Hope Connections for Cancer Support (Hope Connections) has been partnering with RDB Running, creators of unique running events. Founded by Bob Fleshner, one of Hope Connections’ founding board members, RDB Running selected Hope Connections to be the beneficiary of its first event, the American Odyssey Relay (AOR).

LGBTQ youth face higher rates of bullying, discrimination, and homelessness than their non LGBTQ peers. The recent attempts to withhold rights from transgender students in multiple states is indicative of the struggles that LGBTQ youth face today. Without major changes to the current trends of anti-LGBTQ sentiments, youth will continue to suffer at home and in schools. Rates of LGBTQ youth homelessness will remain at high levels, the disproportionate suicide rate will not change, and youth will continue to feel unsafe at schools due to discrimination.
