Mission: Military & Veterans

At Lockheed Martin, veterans are at the center of everything we do – one in five of our employees has served in uniform, and we’re consistently ranked a top place for veterans to work. We are proud to work with more than 860 veteran owned small businesses in our supply chain. We’ve also directed over $8 million in philanthropic contributions to military- and veteran-focused organizations, and our employees have volunteered more than 43,000 annual hours in support of veteran’s initiatives. We Must Remember on Memorial Day
The unofficial start to summer kicks off this weekend with cookouts, pool parties, and beach getaways. As a combat veteran who has lost friends to the scourge of war, I want to provide the following public service announcement. Enjoy the holiday weekend but please find time to celebrate Memorial Day the right way. Whatever you do, avoid these holiday greetings: “Thank you for your service” and “Happy Memorial Day.”

Helping Veterans Rebuild Their Lives, One Home at a Time
Lockheed Martin demonstrated its ongoing mission to serve our nation’s military veterans and their families by donating $97,000 last month to Homes for Our Troops, a nonprofit organization that builds specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans. Over the past six years, Lockheed Martin has committed more than $400,000 to the charitable organization.
