LOS ANGELES, Oct. 10, 2013 /3BL Media/ — AECOM Technology Corporation, a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for public and private clients in more than 140 countries around the world, announced today that it was recently recognized with a Sustainability Leadership Award at the inaugural Golden Globe Tigers Awards ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Hosted at the 2013 World Marketing Summit, the event celebrates marketing, advertising and branding initiatives undertaken by organizations and individuals.  The award recognizes best practices in sustainability and the related contributions that help make a difference in communities around the globe.

“This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our employees as we continue to evolve our sustainability culture,” said Gary Lawrence, AECOM vice president and chief sustainability officer.

As part of AECOM’s sustainability efforts this year, the company published its second annual global sustainability report, titled, “Complex problems. Integrated solutions.”  The report demonstrates the company’s approach to helping communities around the globe adapt to the ever-changing needs of nature and society by providing its clients with sustainable solutions.  Examples include designing a long-lasting master plan for the London Olympics, creating an innovative safety cocoon system net for the rebuilding of the World Trade Center in New York City, and helping Beijing’s Tongzhou New City aim to achieve a 20-percent carbon footprint reduction. 

This year’s World Marketing Summit focused on the United Nations’ eight Millennium Development Goals and included more than 2,300 delegates from 68 countries discussing ways to incorporate social purpose into business practice to allow for profit growth while furthering a social cause.
