(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - February 9, 2010 — Visible Light Solar Technologies, in conjunction with today’s announcement from New Mexico Governor Richardson’ office, announced its intention to be a first local customer of the newly funded Solar Distinctions’ solar panel products. Governor Bill Richardson announced today that Solar Distinction Inc, a New Mexico company, would be building a state of the art photovoltaic manufacturing plant in Albuquerque. The plant will employ 300 within two to three years with a potential of up to 500 thereafter.

Visible Light Solar will be using the panels produced by Solar Distinction as part of their LED lighting fixtures (new or retrofit) on-and-off-grid energy optimization solutions. Visible Light Solar is the first commercial and industrial lighting company to integrate LED lighting devices with on-and-off-grid energy optimization, a smart interface and the option of including solar panels or using solar exclusively.  The company’s LED lighting applications operate 50-85% more efficiently than their traditional HID and incandescent counterparts. In addition to dramatically lowering energy consumption, Visible Light Solar’s solutions also reduce maintenance costs (high quality LED fixtures have a 50,000 hour-rated lifespan and are resistant to thermal and vibrational shocks) and produce true-color, programmable illumination.    “We are pleased to participate in today’s announcement as one of Solar Distinctions first New Mexico customers,” said Dee Dennis, CEO of Visible Light Solar. “Our order is already in for custom solar panels. Keeping our own carbon footprint low is a big part of our company mission. Once their plant is up and running and our order fulfilled, we will be sourcing local components, supporting the New Mexico economy, reducing shipping costs, and helping revitalize a US manufacturing economy. All part of our triple bottom line approach to business.”   Solar Distinction will also sell its photovoltaic technologies to third party companies throughout the Southwestern US. Solar Distinction is a sister company of the Albuquerque-based Noribachi Group, a clean tech private equity firm that invests in and supports the development and commercialization of technologies critical to the burgeoning clean energy economy. Visible Light Solar just announced its expansion into a 32,000 sq-ft facility in Albuquerque.   About Visible Light Solar Technologies   Visible Light Solar Technologies (www.visiblelightsolar.com) is an energy technology company providing LED lighting, point of use solar technology and on-and-off-grid energy optimization solutions.  Visible Light Solar's flagship LED lighting solutions give public, private, industrial and commercial facilities ways to immediately save money, reduce maintenance costs, and advance their environmental sustainability goals.
