"Verizon's $10,000 grant will help support services at Lakeview Assisted Living Facility, including professional and caring resident assistants, daily activities and regular socials for residents, medication management, physical and occupational therapy, and transportation," says Julie Smith, Vice President of External Affairs at Verizon.

Lakeview Assisted Living Facility is a non-profit facility that strives to offer the conveniences of home while providing assistance to make life easier for seniors.  The facility primarily provides care for Medicaid clients who face financial difficulties.

"This type of community involvement is what the Office on Aging encourages, and I applaud the efforts of the Verizon Foundation for taking action, giving back to the community, and improving the quality of life for these residents," remarks Lieutenant Governor McConnell.  "It's incredibly uplifting to know that we're able to create a safety net that South Carolinians like this deserve."
