So, have you heard the news? On April 26th, we launched the new, improved WM Mobile App! This app will now allow our roll off customers in the United States to order a pickup right from their smart phone.
Imagine you are a busy job site foreman or scheduler. You are working on a construction project, at a hospital or stadium or other location. You see your WM container needs to be collected and, with just a few clicks, you can now order the request from your iOS or Android device. Fast, efficient, simple. Just another way to keep our customers on time and on budget.
The WM Mobile app can be used anytime – whether it’s 4 am or you’re on a noisy job site and don’t want to yell into the phone!
While developing this technology, we asked our customers what they wanted. Their response? Build us an app to order a pickup with as few key strokes as possible. So, we incorporated these suggestions into a working demo that they tested for a few months. The response was overwhelming: they loved it. I remember one customer telling me that innovative solutions like this is what he expects from Waste Management.
After all, how many of us use a mobile device to do banking or buy a movie ticket, check the weather or check a baseball score? I do, and my guess is that a lot of you do too. Now, Waste Management is the only environmental solutions provider to offer the mobile convenience that so many us depend on!
Over time, we will add even more functionality to the WM Mobile app. We will make it even better. But, as of today, we have a terrific tool that’s something our customers have wanted, and loved since downloading.
