Townsville Port Access Road — AECOM Drives the Three Pillars of Sustainability

Managing complexity, building better lives.

AECOM’s work on the Townsville Port Access Road project successfully embodied the three pillars of sustainability.

The Queensland Government’s vision for the Townsville Port Access Road (TPAR) was a freight-efficient, strategic road link to the Port of Townsville that complements the natural environment and achieves excellence as well as sustainability through every project phase with a high level of stakeholder support and recognition.

“Our work on TPAR met the client’s needs and successfully embodied the three pillars of sustainability by incorporating social, economic and environmental features,” said Chris Paterson, AECOM’s area manager, North Queensland and Northern Territory, Australia New Zealand. “This project serves as a leading example of AECOM’s sustainability work in the transportation sector.”
