SAN FRANCISCO, March 19 2014 /3BL Media/ - Sustainable Brands® recently announced the Activation Hub, a new and integral component of SB’14 San Diego, June 2-5, 2014, at the Paradise Point Resort and Spa. As a central networking hub, it will serve as a marketplace for learning and collaboration centered on creating a net positive impact through brand innovation.

The Activation Hub is designed to spur thinking beyond the norm, ignite collaborative conversation and accelerate the exchange of tools and ideas among attendees, exhibitors and sponsors. By re-imagining the traditional expo experience, participants in the Activation Hub will focus on interactivity and discussion that leads to redesigning the regenerative economy of the future. Over 90 dedicated Innovation Stations will focus on business issues including Supply Chain & Procurement, Product & Service Innovation, Brand Positioning, Operational Efficiency, Chemistry, and Organizational Development & Culture. These stations invite participants to facilitate deeper conversation and networking, allowing everyone to engage on a more personal level. Companies confirmed to participate by showcasing their innovations this year include: BASF, Nissan, Target, Brand Cool, MSL Group, Canon, Covanta, Pure Strategies, and Aqwastream, among others.

“Sustainable Brands creates a space for leading companies and sustainability practitioners to come together for learning, collaboration and celebration of the progress that has been made in reinventing business. We find the exchange of ideas and opportunity to connect with like-minded colleagues critical to advancing our social and environmental commitments,” says Tim Greiner, Managing Director of Pure Strategies, a participating sponsor this year.

Additional components of the Activation Hub include the Causeway and SB Innovation Open (SBIO). A dedicated zone for organizations and nonprofits, the Causeway will be an opportunity for attendees to engage with impactful and net positive causes. The Innovation Open, sponsored by Target, will feature semifinalists in the startup business competition. It will give sponsors and other participating thought leaders the chance to meet and converse with socially and environmentally conscious entrepreneurs. SBIO participants will pitch their business plans on Tuesday, June 3rd in the Product & Service Innovation Station sponsored by Target.

As the first event organizer in North America to achieve conformity to the ISO 20121 Standard in 2013, Sustainable Brands will once again create zero waste in the Activation Hub through collaboration with partners like The 1:1 Movement, Waste Management, Freeman, and Paradise Point Resort and Spa. Participants are encouraged to bring digital collateral and materials made from renewable or upcycled materials and to focus on interactivity and discussion over traditional expo kits. All vendors and suppliers of the show will be asked to divert waste from landfill wherever possible and to track and submit a waste stream analysis at the conclusion of the event. Any leftover materials will be composted, recycled or donated.

The Activation Hub at SB’14 San Diego runs Monday, June 2nd through Thursday, June 5th. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for companies who wish to demonstrate their product or service as a trusted business solution and receive insight and feedback immediately from customers in the Sustainable Brands community.
