Seven AECOM Young Professionals Honored In The “New Faces Of Engineering” And “Top 20 Under 40” Competitions In The United States

LOS ANGELES, February 17, 2014 /3BL Media/ — AECOM Technology Corporation, a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for public and private clients in more than 150 countries around the world, announced today that seven AECOM employees have been honored in two young professional programs — the 2014 “New Faces of Engineering” competition by the U.S. National Engineers Week Foundation, which honors accomplishments achieved before individuals reach the age of 30 years old; and the “2014 Top 20 Under 40” U.S. program by Engineering News-Record.

Along with their accomplishments in engineering, each of the seven AECOM employees was recognized for positive societal impacts through volunteer and community service.  See the following list of the seven AECOM employees and links to full profiles on AECOM.com.

Roland Abi Nader, a civil engineer and senior project manager in Jamaica, N.Y., was selected for Engineering News-Record’s New York “2014 Top 20 Under 40” list on the basis of his experience in managing and implementing complex projects.  Nader is currently working on phase 2 of Delta Air Line’s Concourse B renovation and expansion at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.

Claudia Bilotto, an associate vice president in Atlanta, is one of Engineering News-Record’s Southeast “2014 Top 20 Under 40.”  With a master’s degree in city planning, Bilotto has worked to build AECOM’s highway- and corridor-focused planning practice and to expand services to local clients.  She also teaches the Georgia Planning Association’s transportation planning review course for the American Institute of Certified Planners exam.

Michael Demko, an environmental engineer and senior project manager in Tidewater, Va., is one of Engineering News-Record’s MidAtlantic “2014 Top 20 Under 40.”  With a focus on designing wastewater-treatment facilities, Demko has undertaken numerous projects throughout the East Coast, including a 10-million-gallon-per-day water-reclamation facility design for Plant City, Fla., that was recognized by the Florida Water Environment Association.

Lanelle Ezzard, a water resources engineer in Atlanta, was named a finalist in the New Faces of Engineering program by the American Society of Civil Engineers.  After the destruction caused by Superstorm Sandy in 2012, Ezzard supported the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) rebuilding efforts in New York, assisting with floodplain management processes.  Ezzard is also involved with FEMA’s Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning (Risk MAP) program, which aims to deliver quality data that will increase public awareness and lead to actions that reduce the risk to life and property as a result of flooding.

Amanda McNally, an environmental engineer in Pittsburgh, is one of Engineering News-Record’s MidAtlantic “2014 Top 20 Under 40.”  McNally currently leads AECOM’s green and sustainable remediation technical practice group where she conducts training for AECOM employees and supports projects incorporating sustainability evaluations, best management practices and green technologies for remedy implementation.

Adam Poffenberger, a project engineer in Glen Allen, Va., was selected for Engineering News-Record’s MidAtlantic “2014 Top 20 Under 40” on the strength of his far-ranging experience with environmental projects, including the Bridgeport Rental and Oil Service Superfund site groundwater extraction and treatment system project in Bridgeport, N.J.

Tyler Troast, a project manager and professional engineer in New York City, was named a finalist in the New Faces of Engineering program by the American Society of Civil Engineers.  In his work with Tishman Construction, an AECOM Company, Troast is a project manager on 4 World Trade Center in New York City where he has taken on numerous responsibilities throughout the construction of the tower.
