SAP AG's mobile services division offered free international short message service to Philippine telecommunications operators in order to help Filipinos get in touch with loved ones based overseas after Typhoon Haiyan hit the country.

The company partnered with Smart Communications, Sun Cellular and Globe Telecom to offer the free text message service from Nov. 11 to Nov. 25, SAP said.

“In support of the Filipino community’s rebuilding and recovery, SAP is committed to contributing in a meaningful way by facilitating communication with overseas families and friends through unlimited international SMS services,” said Matthew Tonkin, vice president of Asia Pacific Japan for SAP Mobile Services.
