Qualcomm Foundation today announced it is donating $250,000 to support long-term recovery efforts in Mexico after the two devastating earthquakes that recently struck the country’s central and south regions.

Qualcomm Incorporated is also expanding the list of eligible organizations for its previously announced employee matching grant of $250,000 to include earthquake relief.

“Our hearts are with all the victims of the recent catastrophic earthquakes in Mexico, and with our contribution we hope to bring some relief to those who must now repair and rebuild their lives,” said Michelle Sterling, executive vice president, Human Resources at Qualcomm, Incorporated.

Previously, Qualcomm Foundation donated $1 million to the Center for Disaster Recovery as a response to this year’s severe Atlantic hurricane season. Qualcomm Incorporated also pledged $1 million to Hurricane Harvey relief.

“We are steadfast in our commitment to contributing to and supporting the communities around us,” Sterling said. “I’m very proud and inspired by our employees’ leadership to mobilize, raise funds, volunteer to gather food and medical supplies, and also support the relief efforts.”
