All In. Carbon Out
Our sustainability strategy encompasses a variety of innovative approaches and advanced solutions. Through the implementation of operational improvements and emissions reduction efforts, we are committed to lowering our environmental impact and promoting a sustainable future.
In our 2025 Corporate Sustainability Report, we highlight various initiatives and programs we implement to reduce our direct and indirect operational emissions. In this article, we take a closer look at one of the projects in 2025 that is a testament to this.
Spotlight on progress: Improving efficiency of offshore field operations in Brazil & North America
Launched in 2022, Carbon Out is our global employee engagement initiative designed to empower staff to operate sustainably and deliver innovative solutions. Our dedicated team leverages expertise across diverse energy sectors to find new ways to cut both operational and value chain emissions. Through Carbon Out, employees gain access to tools, funding, and resources, enabling them to drive emission reductions throughout our business.
The Carbon Out Pressure Pumping team made significant strides by lowering fuel use and emissions connected to Dynamic Positioning (DP) operations on three vessels. They spotted a chance to boost efficiency and environmental performance during offshore operations and responded by implementing Variable Frequency Mode (VFM) on integrated stimulation vessels, optimizing their energy usage during activities.
The first deployment occurred on the Blue Marlin in Brazil in April 2023, followed by installations on two more North American vessels - the Blue Dolphin and Blue Tarpon - in 2025. This project has cut each vessel’s fuel consumption by 35%, leading to notable emissions reductions and cost savings.
Additionally, all three ships received new Safety Management Certificates from ABS, highlighting their commitment to regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Read this case study here to learn more.
