January 31, 2017 /3BL Media/ - FIRST Robotics is all about teaching innovation and encouraging competition. That’s why Arrow Electronics is again teaming with the Denver Broncos’ Tackle STEM program to sponsor this year’s Colorado FIRST Robotics competition, which kicked off January 7. Both organizations see FIRST Robotics as a fun way to create educational engagement opportunities for students, while providing rewards and recognition around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

A video released by the Denver Broncos organization explains how FIRST Robotics helps students see the value of science and technology in their lives by opening their eyes to STEM careers. Alex West, global social responsibility manager at Arrow, is featured in the video echoing that sentiment, noting, “This valuable partnership helps us in our mission to guide future innovators forward.”

Colorado FIRST Robotics touches more than 4,000 kids in grades K-12. In the high school competition, students have six weeks to design, build and program a robot, working on teams that may qualify to compete at national or international levels. Judging takes place in late March (click here for the complete 2017 Colorado FIRST Robotics schedule).
