Diversity Partnerships for Better Health

Today’s guest post comes from Monique Hunt McWilliams, Eli Lilly and Company’s Chief Diversity officer.   Children love to dream of what they want to be when they grow up, and for the most part, their dreams are uninhibited at a young age. But for some, the thought of becoming a scientist, a mathematician or a health care provider doesn’t even cross their mind because they have few, if any, role models to show them it’s a possibility.   That’s just one reason Lilly is committed to partnering with organizations such as the National Council of La Raza and why we’re participating at the annual conference and health summit this week. Three years ago, Lilly took a leadership role to help bring to life the NCLR Health Summit, and we’ve supported it every year. Our goal is to ensure that all people, regardless of their background, have access to and an appreciation of the possibilities surrounding health care.   Read on for more about Lilly's participation in the 2014 NCLR Health Summit.
