Volunteering Is CSR

On Wednesday, July 18th, the San Francisco Business Times hosted the 12th Annual Bay Area Corporate Philanthropy Awards and Summit at the Fairmount Hotel – only blocks away from the VolunteerMatch headquarters. So naturally, I was excited to be able to attend.

This year, the Bay Area recognized 65 companies for their philanthropic efforts in local communities. Many of the companies honored at the event are also partners of VolunteerMatch.

The morning kicked off by revealing companies that gave the most money to local causes, followed by a discussion panel titled “Philanthropy from the Top,” closing with the breakout session “Exploring a Successful Corporate/Nonprofit Partnership.”

Corporate partners of VolunteerMatch honored during the event included Adobe, AT&T, Amgen, Bank of the West, CA Technologies, Gap Inc, Charles Schwab, City National Bank, Google, Mechanics Bank, Microsoft, U.S. Bank and Union Bank.

As the event closed, I had the pleasure of congratulating our partners for their amazing efforts. I was unable to say hello to everyone but wanted to thank each of these companies for their hard work.

Congratulations to the 2012 honorees of the Corporate Philanthropy Awards and Summit!
