ING KiDS ROCK, through "ING Run for Something Better" program, promotes health and fitness for kids and fights childhood obesity. In its latest effort, ING KiDS ROCK Philly, it organized a one-mile, non-timed, non-competitive "fun run" to increase awareness about childhood obesity.

The fun run received enthusiastic participation from more than 700 Philadelphia kids from Grade 2 to 8. Olympian Rod Dixon was present at the event to motivate and encourage the kids. The goal of the run was to help kids understand the importance of fitness for a healthy future, and how physical fitness can be a fun part of their everyday life.

Young kids who participate in the ING KiDS ROCK program complete 25.2 miles of a 26.2 mile marathon at their own pace with support from their parents or teachers to become "marathon finishers." The participants receive a Better Training Guide, which is training program that includes tips to help kids start and maintain an overall healthy and active lifestyle.
