Global Impact President Renée S. Acosta Named 2012 Brava! Women Business Achievement Award Recipient by SmartCEO Magazine

Global Impact President Recognized for Leadership, Business Growth and Philanthropy

(3BL Media) Alexandria, VA - July 12, 2012 - Renée S. Acosta, Global Impact’s President, was selected as a 2012 Brava! Women Business Achievement Award Recipient by SmartCEO magazine. The award recognizes businesswomen in the Washington metropolitan area who “combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community.”

For nearly 40 years Ms. Acosta has been a champion for the poorest of the poor around the world. Under her leadership, Global Impact’s revenue increased from $10 million in 1993 to $110.4 million in 2011. As a result of her vision, hundreds of thousands of donors now help people in need through more than 11,400 charities working around the world.

Additionally, the organization won an honorable mention in connection with the 2010 Awards for Excellence in Nonprofit Management from the Center for Nonprofit Advancement and The Washington Post.
