Jamie Dimon, Chairman & CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co., discusses the Global Health Investment Fund.

Global Health Investment Fund (GHIF, or the Fund) is a new social impact investment fund designed to provide financing to advance the development of drugs, vaccines, diagnostics and other interventions against diseases that disproportionately burden low-income countries. The Fund provides a novel opportunity to help bring about significant improvements in the treatment and prevention of disease, in family planning, and in the reduction of maternal and child mortality, along with the prospect of a net financial return for investors.

The Fund was structured by JPMorgan Chase and sponsored by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with anchor support from Grand Challenges Canada (funded by the Government of Canada), and has brought together a combination of governmental, industrial, charitable, institutional, and individual investors that support the Fund's mission. GHIF is managed by LHGP Asset Management, a London-based investment advisory firm.
