Generous DC Area Federal Employees Recognized for Service to The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area

Campaign Brings Hope to People and Communities in Need

WHAT: Through the 2011 Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA), DC-area Federal employees were recognized at the campaign Finale celebration. The event, which took place on March 6, celebrated the more than $64 million, and counting, pledged through the CFCNCA to help tens of thousands of people locally, nationally and around the world. The CFCNCA, managed by Global Impact, is the largest and only authorized workplace charitable giving drive for employees in the Federal workplace which helps people and communities in need.


WHO: At the campaign finale, winners were announced across a broad spectrum of categories and included:

  • Best Executive Leadership Involvement: CG-4, Washington Headquarters Services and U.S. Coast Guard
  • Heroes of the Year: Edward Gingold of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Lieutenant Commander Michael Edwards of the U.S. Coast Guard
  • Best Special Event: Broadcasting Board of Governors, International BroadcastingBureau/Voice of America; Washington Headquarters Services and Defense Intelligence Agency
