CINCINNATI, June 17, 2019 /3BL Media/ - Personal demands don’t stop while you’re at work, so Fifth Third Bank is now offering a virtual concierge service to its employees through Best Upon Request.

Tasks on to-do lists such as online shopping, personal travel and event planning, home or auto appointment scheduling and research can be handled by a professional concierge while employees are at work, allowing them to create a hassle-free way to manage personal duties. Employees do not pay for the service, only for the cost of the goods they purchase, and tips are not accepted.

The virtual program builds on the successful in-person concierge service the Bank has offered the past six years at several of its campuses through Best Upon Request. Two years ago, the Bank introduced the Maternity Concierge program that specializes in helping pregnant and new moms. The addition of the virtual service means now all 21,000 employees have access to a concierge.

Leslie Koenig, a retirement benefits manager for Fifth Third, used the virtual service to help during a stressful time in her life.

"I was in the process of cleaning out my mom's house several hours from me, preparing to move her closer," Koenig said. "Because I wasn't familiar with the services local to her area, I had the concierge research things like getting a dumpster, finding movers and paperwork shredding services. The concierges were hugely helpful, giving me several options with details and costs for each of the services."

"The popularity of the concierge service at four of the Bank’s campuses prompted the company to add the virtual service," said Chief Human Resources Officer Bob Shaffer.

“It’s a great way to help our employees and reduce their stress,” he said. “We learned how popular the service was and wanted to see how we could expand it to benefit all of our employees no matter where they work in our company.”

Tillie Hidalgo Lima, CEO of Best Upon Request, said, “Fifth Third has been our most strategic partner because they trust us to provide innovative solutions for their human capital strategies. With the addition of our virtual concierge services, our dedicated team can impact all of their employees’ wellbeing by reducing personal workloads and providing peace of mind.”
