Elanco’s Trutect™ Provides the Tool Veterinarians Need To Fight Parvo and Win

The Riverside Department of Animal Services recently reached a milestone that represents a paradigm shift in shelter medicine. By implementing Trutect™ (formerly Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody)—the first and only USDA-approved treatment for Canine Parvovirus—they have successfully achieved a 63% reduction in Parvo-related euthanasia rates year-to-date.

This dramatic shift is the direct result of what happens when visionary leadership meets first-of-its-kind innovation. For decades, Parvo was a devastating diagnosis for shelters; today, Trutect™ provides the tool veterinarians need to fight back and win.

At Elanco, this progress is the living embodiment of our mission: making life better for animals, makes life better. By providing the science to turn a diagnosis of parvovirus into a story of recovery, we are not just advancing veterinary medicine—we are strengthening the essential bond between pets and the communities that care for them.
