DEBORAH E. WALLACE NAMED FELLOW OF GOVERNANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY INSTITUTE

New York, NY, July 29, 2013 – Governance & Accountability Institute, Inc. announces the recognition and appointment of Deborah E. Wallace as a Fellow of the Institute. Ms. Wallace is founder and Principal at BrinkPoint Consulting, LLC, a consulting and research firm providing services in the areas of governance reform, board development and leadership development.

Ms. Wallace has been conducting comprehensive research in the above-named areas for more than 20 years. She has writtenextensively for a variety of publications including Directors & Boards, Corporate Secretary Magazine, Sarbanes-Oxley Journal, the National Association of Credit Unions' magazine, and Compliance and Ethics.  She is a Contributing Editor for Reflections, a quarterly journal published by MIT’s Society of Organization Learning. Also, she has been a periodic featured commentator on G&A Institute's public website, Accountability-Central.

Ms. Wallace is the author of a soon-to-be published white paper for Governance & Accountability Institute: "Special Report/ Corporate Governance: "The Role of Conscious Capitalism in Corporate Governance Reform."

In addition to her work with BrinkPoint Consulting and G&A Institute, Ms. Wallace works in close partnership with Conscious Capitalism, Inc., (Conscious Capitalism, Inc. is a non-profit organized to challenge business leaders to re-think their organization’s purpose and to re-examine their company’s role as a participant in the interdependent global marketplace.) 

In announcing Ms. Wallace as a Fellow, Governance & Accountability Institute Chairman and CEO Hank Boerner said: “We're pleased to welcome Deborah as a Fellow of the Institute. In acknowledging her recognition as a fellow of the Governance & Accountability Institute, Ms. Wallace said: "I am honored to be recognized as a Fellow of the Institute as I have long admired and valued the work of the G&A organization. Prior to establishing BrinkPoint Consulting, Deborah was Vice President of Management and Leadership Development for Fidelity Brokerage Company, where she worked with its business unit presidents in developing a long-term succession planning program.

Other facets of her distinguished career include:

  • Senior Consultant at Towers Watson (formerly Watson Wyatt Worldwide), for a decade, where she was a core member of its Organization Effectiveness practice.  While at Towers, she introduced Governance and Board Effectiveness as a new area of expertise and designed and led case-based programs for Watson Wyatt’s in-house Associate Development Program.
  • Senior Consultant at Innovation Associates, a firm founded by the Peter Senge (founding chairperson of the Society of Organizational Learning and Senior Lecturer in Leadership and Sustainability at the MIT Sloan School of Management.) in the early 1990’s to advance the theory and practice of organizational learning.

Ms. Wallace is a Fellow at the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD); a member of the American Psychological Association (APA); and the Society of Organizational Learning (SoL).  She earned both her Master's and Doctoral degrees from Harvard University.  She may be contacted at dwallace@brinkpointconsulting.com .
