Ziploc® donates Earthscapes playground made of 99-percent recycled plastic in continued support of City’s environmental efforts
(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Corpus Christi, TX — February 1, 2012 — Today, the City of Corpus Christi recognized the one-year anniversary of Corpus Christi Recycles, its single-stream recycling program featuring Recyclebank® rewards that launched January of last year in partnership with the Ziploc® brand. The City’s recycling program has already made a big impact, increasing the amount of recyclables collected by more than 350 percent in 2011 compared to same period the year before. Recyclebank rewards people for taking everyday green actions with discounts and deals from local and national businesses. With recycling now easier and rewards for those that do so, Corpus residents have recycled more than 24 million pounds over the past year, which is equivalent to nearly half the weight of the U.S.S. Lexington aircraft carrier.
