Nourishing People and the Planet

The U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) call for bold action to end hunger in all its forms by 2030, but due to impacts from the pandemic, global hunger increased last year for the first time in nearly a decade. Nearly 10 percent of the global population, up to 811 million people, faced hunger, food insecurity and malnourishment in 2020.

Despite these setbacks, governments, businesses and nonprofits still have an opportunity to significantly reduce global hunger by the end of this decade and lay the groundwork to sustainably feed an estimated 10 billion people by 2050. In this series sponsored by Herbalife Nutrition, we'll take a closer look at the social and environmental challenges of building healthy, thriving communities through nutrition education, economic empowerment while also improving the planet through sustainable business practices.
