Centennial, Colo. - Employees from Arrow Electronics’ Colorado headquarters were invited to participate in the Denver Broncos’ staff day of service on a Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver project last week.

Arrow and Broncos volunteers spent the day building a new house and worked hand-in-hand with the future homeowners, a couple who was recently displaced from Afghanistan. Habitat for Humanity homeowners are required to pass a rigorous screening and spend 100 hours of sweat equity on their own home. They pay for closing costs and make monthly zero-interest mortgage payments.

Arrow Internal Communications Manager, Jon Watters, expressed his views on volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, commenting, “Arrow’s Five Years Out motto may revolve around technology, but it’s anchored on a desire to serve people, to make life better. That inspiration applies anywhere—from semiconductors, to the cloud, to building homes. Many thanks to the Denver Broncos for the invite!”

“Arrow is a company that is built on a foundation of innovation. We are working ‘Five Years Out’ to create a better, smarter future, and that forward-thinking also applies to our volunteer efforts,” said Alex West, Arrow’s global CSR manager. “Arrow employees believe deeply in donating their time to the communities they live and work in. They spend countless hours around the world guiding innovation forward, by giving back.”
