More than 200 high school and college students from Clark County, Nevada and University of Nevada, Las Vegas received exclusive behind-the-scenes access to festival and insights about jobs in live entertainment industry

In the days leading up to Goldenvoice’s Day N Vegas music festival in Las Vegas, AEG and Goldenvoice welcomed more than 200 high school and college students from Clark County, Nevada, and University of Nevada, Las Vegas to participate in the inaugural Day N Vegas Community Program. 

Over the course of three days, students were provided an in-depth look at the live entertainment industry from industry professionals including Day N Vegas Festival Director Kyle Casey; AEG Presents Vice President Talent Buyer Danny Bell; Goldenvoice Vice President of Ticketing Rhea Roberts Johnson; Goldenvoice Senior Security Manager Inez Lopez; Goldenvoice Marketing Manager Chrystal Anderson; Goldenvoice Festival Ticketing and Staffing Manager Jarvis Smith; Goldenvoice Talent Buyer Marcus Johnson; Goldenvoice Artist Relations Manager Shaynee Gordy; AEG Presents Human Resources Manager Ellen Rojc-Lun; AEG Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Jae Requiro; and Vice President of the AEG Community Foundation Erikk Aldridge, among others. 

“The Day N Vegas Community Program was designed to engage and inform students from Clark County about potential careers in the live music space,” said Rhea Roberts-Johnson, vice president of ticketing, Goldenvoice. “Our goal with this program was to inspire the next generation of potential industry professionals by not only telling them about the multitude of jobs that exist in the industry, but also by introducing them to employees in these roles who shared their stories and career journeys.”

Activities included panel discussions on “The Music Biz 101”, “All About Festivals” and “Careers in The Industry,” as well as speed mentoring with industry professionals and a behind-the-scenes tour of the festival grounds.  AEG and Goldenvoice tapped into their extensive network to include industry speakers such as Creative Artist Agency’s co-head of the global Hip-Hop/R&B touring group Joe Hadley; Raedio President Benoni Tagoe; Leimert Park Rising members Camille Davis and Alfred "DJ Qwess Coast" Torregano; and Bricks & Wood Artist/Designer Kacey Lynch. 

“When I was getting started in my career, I never saw women of color in leadership roles,” said Jae Pi’ilani Requiro, Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, AEG. “Representation matters and when young people see people who look like them in leadership roles, they can see that their career opportunities are endless.” 

“At Goldenvoice and AEG, we prioritize diversity in all aspects of our business and community programs like this are a great steppingstone to engaging young people by exposing them to careers and viable career paths that they otherwise might not have known existed,” said Requiro.  

Other youth programs that AEG and Goldenvoice have previously hosted include Goldenvoice’s Arroyo Seco Weekend Youth Program at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. in 2017 and 2018. Additionally, from 2013 to 2019, AEG hosted the longstanding BET Youth Program at L.A. LIVE in conjunction with BET and the BET Awards.
