Advocates Making Change Through The Poverty Is Unnecessary Project 2021
Every year, the Foundation celebrates Poverty Is Unnecessary Day to commemorate the Whole Foods Market Global 5% Day on October 25, 2005, when five percent of shopper purchases raised $525,000 for the seed capital for Whole Planet Foundation. Since then, Whole Planet Foundation has disbursed $93 million through microfinance partners, funding 5.2 million microcredit loans creating 27.6 million opportunities for the world’s poorest entrepreneurs to create or expand a business and lift themselves and their family members out of poverty.
The Whole Planet Foundation Poverty Is Unnecessary Project includes Poverty Is Unnecessary Fund Members donating $25,000 each to alleviate global poverty and the annual online auction.
Whole Planet Foundation’s Party with a Purpose Online Auction during October 18-21 is made possible by event support from Presenting Sponsor KeVita, Gold Sponsors Evolve and Super Coffee, Silver Sponsors Great Range Premium Bison and Pact, Bronze Sponsors Anchor Packaging, Cascades, Luxury Travel Hackers, Ripple and Shoes For Crews. Thanks to these sponsors, auction proceeds benefit microcredit clients working hard to escape poverty. We are delighted to share that the auction raised $50,000 and counting!
