AccountAbility Receives IoD's 2013 Golden Peacock Global Award for Sustainability

Award Recognises over 19 Years of Impact on the Global CR Agenda

London, UK, October 11, 2013 /3BL Media/ - AccountAbility has been awarded the prestigious international Golden Peacock Award for Sustainability in 2013, by the Institute of Directors (IoD), India. The award recognises the quality and nature of work that AccountAbility has delivered and the impact it has had on the global agenda of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability for almost 20 years. 

Receiving the award on behalf of AccountAbility, were AccountAbility Council member, Sir Mark Moody Stuart and AccountAbility CEO, Sunny Misser.

AccountAbility CEO Sunny Misser said, "It is an honor to receive the Golden Peacock and we are grateful to the people of AccountAbility, whose dedication and tireless efforts have made this possible. We would like to acknowledge our valued clients, worldwide, for giving us the opportunity to work with them to shape and implement the Sustainability agenda of tomorrow." Misser commented, "An effective Sustainability agenda has to deliver tangible and measurable results, be well integrated within the organisation and make a significant impact on the issues of the future."

The Award was presented at the IoD London Global Convention on Corporate Governance & Sustainability on 2nd October 2013 at The Tower Hotel in London, in the presence of a distinguished gathering of business leaders, academics, legislators and policy makers. Other global Sustainability winners for the 2013 awards include – Volkswagen, MasterCard, Royal Bank of Scotland, Doha Bank and Cognizant Technologies.

Senior AccountAbility Council member, Sir Mark Moody Stuart said, "For almost two decades, AccountAbility has been at the forefront of Sustainability thinking and focused on delivering practical and innovative solutions to large global organisations. This is a notable achievement and I look forward to AccountAbility leading the way, in what promises to be an exciting journey."

At the conference, AccountAbility also chaired an expert panel discussion on, "The Future at Sustainability Reporting." Panelists included representatives from the International Integrated Reporting Committee, ArcelorMittal, TATA Services Ltd and Social Accountability International.

Past winners of the Golden Peacock Award for Sustainability have included Coca Cola, Unilever, Novartis, Deutsche Bank and Vodafone.
