The 3BL Media video team was on location at the 2012 VolunteerMatch Client Summit to capture footage and insights from the annual event. This series of videos captures comments from thought leaders and practitioners about effective community involvement programs.

What do you do when you’ve been recognized as the 2012 Employee Volunteer Program of the Year for large companies? You give a video interview talking about it, of course.

At least that’s what Art Ringness, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, did at the 2012 VolunteerMatch Client Summit. In the video Art talks about the deeply ingrained culture of giving back that Morgan Stanley creates among all of its employees. He describes the challenges the company faces trying to connect people to local causes when there are thousands of employees scattered across the country, and how VolunteerMatch helps with that.

Art also talks about Morgan Stanley’s Global Volunteer Month, their annual event that uses VolunteerMatch to get thousands of employees engaged in finding a cause and making a difference, and a new program that helps people make ongoing commitments to the volunteer with causes they care about for a full year.
