CONTENT: Blog

From December 1-31, a group of select Whole Foods Market supplier donors are giving a portion of sales in select Whole Foods Market stores to support microlending programs in the U.S. and around the globe through Whole Planet Foundation. Their generous contributions will fund microloans for entrepreneurs, primarily women, giving them the opportunity to lift themselves and their families out of poverty. Here’s another list of supplier partners whose products will give back to Whole Planet Foundation in December!

“For over 40 years, Allegro Coffee has believed that where your coffee comes from matters. The foundation of our responsible sourcing model is our network of long-term, direct partnerships with coffee and tea producers around the world. Our aim is to create a positive impact in the entire supply chain, from seed to cup. That’s why giving back is at the root of how we run our business and why we’ve committed to donate to Whole Planet Foundation every year since 2008,” says the team from Allegro.

Tell it Well Greeting Cards by Amy K Wright Photography

“I was given the incredible gift of visiting India in 2012 and 2014. Each trip included a visit to groups of women, in rural villages, who are receiving microloans from Whole Planet Foundation’s India partner CASHPOR Micro Credit. These microloans are used to purchase various items to start their own businesses, such as goats, or weaving materials, and enable each woman to create an opportunity that would otherwise not be available to her,” says Amy K Wright, founder of Tell it Well Greeting Cards.

“On average, most of these women are living on less than $2 a day, and this level of poverty prohibits them from gaining access to a loan from a traditional bank. To put it very simply… a microloan = hope and this hope offers a practical way to become an equal business partner with her husband; to feed and clothe her children and gain access to education – many of the basics in my life that I take for granted. I am profoundly changed by my experience of meeting these vibrant and beautiful women in India, who are being empowered to change their own lives, and that is why I am committed to supporting the Whole Planet Foundation.”

From December 1-31, 2019, $0.10 from each sale of Tell It Well Greeting Cards will be donated to alleviate poverty through Whole Planet Foundation’s microlending programs in the U.S. and around the globe.

Tony’s Chocolonely

“Whole Planet Foundation’s mission to alleviate poverty through microcredit is directly related to Tony’s mission of ending slavery in the chocolate industry, which is a direct result of extreme poverty traps. By alleviating poverty and demanding fair cocoa prices, we can collectively change chocolate for the better,” says Dena White, US Marketing Manager for Tony’s Chocolonely.

From December 1-31, 2019, 1% of the sales of chocolate bars will be donated to alleviate poverty through Whole Planet Foundation’s microlending programs in the U.S. and around the globe.

Wellshire

“Wellshire is not just a natural way of eating, but also a natural way of life. We believe that giving back should be a part of our lifestyle, and therefore support the community and Whole Planet Foundation to the fullest extent possible,” says

Jessica Colameco, VP of Marketing.

Don’t forget about holiday breakfast! From December 1-31, 2019, $0.05 from the sale of Bourbon Dry Rubbed Bacon and Maple Sausage Links will be donated to alleviate poverty through Whole Planet Foundation’s microlending programs in the U.S. and around the globe.
