The team from Intercruises, Carnival’s embarkation services provider at the Port of Charleston, has earned Carnival Cruise Lines’ “Guest Logistics Staff of the Year” award for providing superior service to the 140,000 guests who sail aboard the Carnival Fantasy from the port each year.

The annual award is based on surveys in which guests evaluate Carnival’s year-round North American homeports on a wide range of categories, including embarkation practices, friendliness, hospitality, overall service, and other pre- and post-cruise measurables.

“The Intercruises team in Charleston combines a strong work ethic with strict attention to detail and warm Southern hospitality to create a welcoming and memorable experience for Carnival Fantasy guests,” said Milly Martin, Carnival’s senior director of guest logistics. “We offer our most heartfelt congratulations to the entire Charleston team who demonstrate a superior level of commitment in serving our guests. We would also like to acknowledge our wonderful partners at the Port of Charleston who have been instrumental in our success,” she added.

In recognition of this honor, the Charleston embarkation team was treated to a celebratory dinner compliments of Carnival during which they were presented with a plaque as a permanent reminder of their achievement.

Carnival began offering cruises year-round from Charleston in 2010 aboard the 2,056-passenger Carnival Fantasy, which operates five- and seven-day departures to popular ports throughout The Bahamas and Caribbean.
