Novo Nordisk Earns Top Green Ranking in China

Novo Nordisk aknowledged for financial, social and environmental sustainable development in China.

April 30 2013 /3BL Media/ -  Novo Nordisk was named as one of the top 100 sustainable companies at the Annual Summit of Green Companies held in Kunming, China. The annual event assesses sustainable competitiveness of enterprises doing business in China. On the Annual Summit’s ‘China Top 100 Green Companies 2013’ list, Novo Nordisk ranked number five in the multi-national company category. It is the first time the company has been selected.

 “We are very happy to have the opportunity to discuss our sustainable business model and best practices with outstanding Chinese and multi-national companies,” says Wang Shuhong, vice president, Human Resources & Communication, Novo Nordisk China. “We have seen that the companies on the list - private, state-owned or multi-national - all have their unique perspectives and innovative ideas on sustainability.”

The China Top 100 Green Companies list has been published since 2008 and was the first to use an assessment system to rate sustainable competitiveness in China.

“Instead of merely assessing the financial performance, China Top 100 Green Companies selection evaluates the sustainable competitiveness of companies on the basis of values and principles,” says Liu Donghua, Founder and Deputy Executive Chairman of China Entrepreneur Club.

 

About the China Top 100 Green Companies list

The list is based on the evaluation of a company’s sustainability on five indices: culture, economy, environment, society and innovation. The aim of the list is to elevate sustainability in business circles by honouring excellent that drive “financially, socially and environmentally” sustainable development.  

The list was initiated by China Entrepreneur Club and hosted by the private think tank - Daonong Centre for Enterprise and the Green Herald Magazine.
