How U.S. Bank Makes Community Possible

Earlier this year, our client U.S. Bank launched the Community Possible Relay complete with a mobile baton, or what became known as the Big Blue Bus.

The goal of Community Possible Relay was to promote volunteerism and inspire 153,000 volunteers both inside and outside the bank. This represents 1,000 volunteers for each year the bank has been in business! Team captains Dixcy Sulistyo and Jibreel Black led the relay. Along with their driver John, they traveled 12,000 miles, visiting 38 cities in 25 states. The journey finished in early August, and U.S. Bank is happy to share that it surpassed its goal.

During the relay, employee volunteers built homes, cleaned-up playgrounds and taught financial education (even on the bus!). This fits in with U.S. Bank’s recently launched corporate giving and volunteering platform called Community Possible focused on the areas of work, home and play.

Also during the relay, Dixcy and Jibreel encouraged employees to use VolunteerMatch on their smartphones to log volunteer hours. One of the goals of U.S. Bank’s volunteer program is to get even more employees to log their volunteer hours, and the ability to do it on the go has been a helpful addition. U.S. Bank’s strives to continue to increase volunteer hours throughout the year.

At the end of the Community Possible Relay, employees had logged 120,000 volunteer hours, served over 177,000 individuals and worked with 96 nonprofit partners. U.S. Bank employees are indeed making Community Possible! Check out the all of the relay pit stops by visiting TrackMyTour, then search for “Community Possible Relay”.
