Global Volunteer Month

We’re more than UPS employees. We are your neighbors. We live and work in your community, and we are dedicated to volunteering time, sharing knowledge and donating funds to make it better. At UPS, there’s a culture that supports community service, helping us harness our collective effort in ways that make a real difference around the globe. That’s why we recently pledged to complete 20 million hours of global volunteerism and community service by the end of 2020.

Each October, UPS employees make a difference in local communities through volunteer activities during Global Volunteer Month (GVM). In 2013, UPSers and their families logged over 1.8 million volunteer hours - with 300,000 of those hours happening during GVM.

UPS Mobilizes Worldwide Workforce for 15th Annual Global Volunteer Month
For the 15th straight year, UPS employees are participating in Global Volunteer Month across five continents. UPS estimates employees will donate 335,000 volunteer hours in October to 240 community service events taking place across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Africa (ISMEA). The Global Volunteer Month volunteer hours will help UPS reach 2.15 million volunteer hours in 2017. At the end of Global Volunteer Month each year, UPS awards $10,000 grants to 14 non-profit organizations UPS employees volunteer at in each U.S. region, international region and business unit.
