CNH Industrial Helping Teachers and Students in Need

As kids across the United States head back to learning, CNH Industrial has successfully hosted its first virtual school supply drive to help students and teachers in need. The event was in support of the Kids in Need Foundation (KINF), which last year helped more than five million students and 200,000 teachers in under-resourced schools across the country.

In other years, CNH Industrial sites in North America have hosted in-person supply drives, but this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many employees are working remotely, and the voluntary virtual drive became a streamlined alternative to engage employees. Employees were asked to shop online to purchase the school supplies they wished to donate and the donations are being shipped automatically to be distributed by KINF.

Student education looks quite different this year, with some schools providing online instruction only whereas others are fully open for in-classroom learning or offering a hybrid learning model. Regardless of the approach, there is no less of a need for essential supplies to help kids learn successfully, and teachers teach successfully, which is why the virtual supply drive was launched.

Over 3,000 items were raised across the U.S. and in addition to sponsoring the online event, CNH Industrial will be matching all “goods” donations one to one to make sure even more kids have the tools they need for learning this school year.

“Back to school has been far from normal this year, and given these challenging times, the need in our schools is as strong as ever,” says Michelle Javaherian, CNH Industrial Community Relations Specialist,  “We are thrilled that the first-ever CNH Industrial virtual school supply drive has been a success, and we’re extremely proud that so many of our employees have stepped forward to help make a difference for local schools.”

The commitment to education and strengthening communities is a core value and mission for CNH Industrial, and plays an integral role in the company’s approach to social, environmental, and financial sustainability in its global operations.

CNH Industrial manufactures and markets construction and agricultural equipment under its Case IH, New Holland Agriculture, CASE Construction Equipment and New Holland Construction brands, as well as powertrains for FPT Industrial in North America.
