June 9,  2020 /3BL Media/ - CBRE Group, Inc. has launched a fundraising program to provide financial support for efforts to advance social justice reform and combat racism.

“Our society has no place for racism, racially motivated violence or discriminatory behavior of any kind,” said Bob Sulentic, president & CEO of CBRE. “CBRE stands unequivocally for tolerance and equality and we are proud to help advance social justice. We know that our company and industry need to do more to foster diversity and inclusion, and we are committing time, energy and resources toward making measurable progress.”

CBRE will donate $1 million to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and $1 million to the National Urban League. In addition, the company will match employee contributions to these organizations, dollar for dollar, up to an additional $1 million for each organization. The leaders of CBRE’s African American Network Group (AANG) helped to select the social justice organizations to be the focus of the company’s fundraising effort.

“The NAACP and National Urban League are trusted allies and advocates for the Black community and we support their efforts for racial equality,” said Tonya Brandon, CBRE Managing Director, Global Workplace Solutions, and Chairperson of CBRE’s AANG. “Both of these organizations have long-standing track records of combating social injustice and their efforts are urgently needed today.”

The fundraising campaign will be run through the CBRE Foundation.
